Change and evolution is a certainty in life, and I've become much more aware of it in the past year. I'm not sure if it's because 2010 is the start of a new decade, so brands want a fresh look, but so many signage seem to have gotten makeovers, from Food Basics to Second Cup, new Chatelaine magazine cover design and even my St. Ive's lotion bottle! Then there are products that have changed names, from toilet paper to dish detergent. They're basically the same things dressed up differently... so why all the fuss with the re-design?
I guess because it gives off a new vibe, like when I recently bought a multi-coloured handbag because it better represents my vibrant self than my usual collection of brown and black purses. It gives me joy to see the beauty within reflecting all around me.
I love the line in Jason Mraz's song The Dynamo of Volition, which goes "I'm a brand new edition to the old edition with the love unconditional." I think there's such truth in those words, that indeed each of us is a new and unique expression of the unconditional love we all spring from. So thanks for the "fresh" you bring to this world, and continue to evolve with life in this endless dance of Love.
