July 25 "is the 365th day of the 13 moon calendar, a Mayan system that measures the year in thirteen months of 28 days each: a perpetual calendar of 52 perfect weeks, with a total of 364 days. The 365th day, the "Day Out Of Time," is not a day of the week or a month at all, but truly a day out of time. This day of artistic celebration is an opportunity to cancel debt, to pardon and forgive, and to celebrate life, purification, community, love, and universal forgiveness of all beings."

Home
I'm a mermaid missing her tail,
a fish out of water.
Raised from birth by loving people in the land of fear,
I never missed home
until I realized this wasn't my own.
Now I listen for sounds from love
wherever I go.
At the mall, in a restaurant, out in nature,
everywhere echoes your adoration.
Though I feel dry
I'm actually immersed
in the ocean of love
through and through.
There's no way out of it,
so I may as well
grow back my fins and tail
and make myself at home.
a fish out of water.
Raised from birth by loving people in the land of fear,
I never missed home
until I realized this wasn't my own.
Now I listen for sounds from love
wherever I go.
At the mall, in a restaurant, out in nature,
everywhere echoes your adoration.
Though I feel dry
I'm actually immersed
in the ocean of love
through and through.
There's no way out of it,
so I may as well
grow back my fins and tail
and make myself at home.

Gratitude Entry 28: Connections
Sorry to have disappeared from my gratitude entries for so long. I've been doing some wonderful soul work with Andrew Camargo since early April and while the creative process it involves is always fun, it's also been very time-consuming. Add on top of that my regular schedule and what it comes down to is a case of poor time management.
I'm almost to the one year anniversary of my first gratitude entry now but I'm only a little over half way in! I promise to write at least to my 52nd entry, but will likely continue with this practice indefinitely.
For a long time now I've been amazed by the connections that make up my life. A new friend leads to a community more and I have been having so much fun along the way! The latest string of adventures began in Fall 2009 when I joined Lucas Tensen's Meditative Sound Circle through meetup.com. Each time has been a beautiful experience and it led me to the wonderful yoga teacher & community organizer Dee Dussalt of Follow Your Bliss in mid-2010 when I was trying to find a space downtown to host a new meditation group. Though we've never met she warmly opened her home to us, and since then we've had monthly soul-warming meditations there. I'm also super thankful to have met another awesome yoga teacher Jackie Pelle through this group, as she's been such a gracious hostess for our 3rd Wednesday of the month meditations. I love how she makes us feel at home with her warmth and authenticity.
This year I met two excellent healers through Dee's mailing list. The first is the amazing Andrew Camargo and I am really enjoying my Soul Tending sessions with him. He pushes me to create soul artifacts like poems, stories, drawings and paintings. Then we analyze the meaning and symbols behind them. It's been a fascinating experience and I look forward to more enlightening discoveries!
Tracey Tief of Annares Natural Health is my newest connection. I recently attended two of her DIY workshops, one in making organic lotions and creams and another in organic glycerin soap making. They were hands-on, a lot of fun and very interesting too, since Tracey is so knowledgeable about her craft. I really appreciate her passion for sharing with others and empowering them to make their own natural and organic bath and body products.
I could go on and on with so many other cool connections but will stop here for now. Thank you LOVE for connecting us all and I look forward to the day when you knit us back together in unity as ONE family, the dazzling human race, real soon.
