I am really thankful to have ears that perform perfectly, allowing me to hear everything around, and most importantly so I can enjoy music.
There's something in music that makes us tap our feet, get up and dance or just really feel the emotions conveyed, be it by Mozart, Sinatra or Coldplay. Knowingly or not, musicians and all artists open themselves to channel LOVE, and this world is all the better for it.
Because LOVE is ofen expressed in music, even at times when I feel all alone, turning to my favourite songs have helped to ease my loneliness and remind me that hope and love really exist. And I think music is like a ray of hope for the many oppressed and downhearted around the world too, a promise from LOVE that we can make it through another day, that life will get better.
Recently I stumpled upon a song by Keith Urban called "Put You in a Song", about how he would like to put his girl in a song because:
If I could press play, repeat, how happy I'd be
Wherever I'd go I'd have you there with me
You'd be right where you belong
I wanna put you in a song.
I'm thankful that LOVE has already itserted itself into an ocean of songs, so all I need to do is turn on the music, or even just call up some lyrics from my memory to remind myself that LOVE is always with me. :)

Gratitude Week 23: Blessing People with My Leftovers (aka Recycling)
I have been a recycling fan since grade 8, when I joined the first-ever environment club at our school. In those days we were just beginning to implement recyling at lunch time, and I remember having to pick through the trash bins for recyclable items, and making announcements over the PA system in the mornings to remind students what to put in the various bins.
Ever since then recycling has been close to my heart, and I would even take recyclables home with me when I was out, if there were no recycling bins around. Now my recyling efforts have expanded to include:
Ever since then recycling has been close to my heart, and I would even take recyclables home with me when I was out, if there were no recycling bins around. Now my recyling efforts have expanded to include:
- Giving away my TTC subway day pass to another rider at the end of my trips, which always brings a smile to someone's face. (Thanks to my friend Jessica Wang for introducing me to this wonderful idea!)
- Giving away things I own that I no longer need, like books, clothes etc. to friends or charities like Goodwill.
- Dreaming of having a Love for the Hungry garage sale in the spring, where all profits will be donated to The Mississauga Food Bank
A while ago, I heard someone share that in most indigenous cultures, they do not have the word "trash" in their vocabulary because there is no other place to throw things away, that everything remains within the same life cycle. What a perceptive statement that still rings true in our disposable world today.
I thank LOVE for blessing me with such abundance that even my leftovers can be recycled benefitting others, and ask for wisdom to be a good steward of all I've been given, so that I may life in harmony with everyone and everything that shares Mother Earth with me. :)
Here's is my favourite handbag, made out of recycled plastic bottles! It gets compliments wherever I go, even before I mention how environmentally-friendly it is!! :D

ONE
ONE World
that belongs to all of us,
this family of human race.
ONE team
on planet earth,
we will get through it all together.
ONE dream
uniting all hearts,
for heaven to manifest on earth.
Once utopia seemed like a fantasy,
but now the elements are coming together
for something incredible.
The puzzle pieces are fitting in
piece by piece,
ready to dazzle the world.
Like musicians in an orchestra
each of us has a role to play.
So be the ONE to shine bright today.

I was inspired to write this yesterday by a motto I read on a business card that read "One world, one team, one dream", and because of all the ONEs in yesterday's date: 01/11/2011. :)

Gratitude Week 22: New Beginnings
I love how we can create new beginnings for ourselves whenever we like. Two that happened to me recently was the rearrangement of my room yesterday and the evolution of my pen name today. They go hand-in-hand because I've outgrown my tiny computer table and replaced it with a nice big table for me to write, learn and work on, and my heart is no longer fragile as a teacup, so it's time to choose a more fitting pen name.
This occurred to me in December when I was signing up to Mississauga's Freecycle community and it requested for me to open a Yahoo account in order to proceed. Teacup Heart was available as a user name, but it didn't feel right. Unable to come up with anything else, I let it be and went on with my life. Then LOVE brought the answer through Dee Dussalt, who named me Becca Moonblossom when she created event pages on Meetup and Facebook for the monthly meditation at her Follow Your Bliss yoga studio in Toronto.
It's the perfect name for me because I feel a strong connection to the moon, like how it's reflecting the sun's light as I'm reflecting LOVE's rays. And in the past year, my life has really been blossoming and LOVE's brought so many reminders of this reality through gifts great and small. I haven't told anyone of the above until writing this now, so even though Dee didn't know this info beforehand, because we are both connected to the same LOVE and open to its energy passing through us, LOVE used her creativity to bless me and I'm so thankful for it!! :D
Looking forward to know this soul sister better in the days ahead, and I encourage you to create something FRESH in your life today! :)

Gratitude Week 21: My BEST 2010 EVER!!!
At the end of 2009, I thought it had been my best year ever, and wondered how long my lucky streak would last, because as I've been taught, what goes up must come down. So I am thankful and excited to tell you that I've just lived another best year ever, and plan on this to become a forever streak.
For this I have to thank my soul brother Jason Mraz, who revealed in his birthday blog entry in 2009 that for every birthday, he always wishes for the BEST. So, as usual when I come across something awesome, I've stolen this great idea and made it my own, writing the BEST into peoples' lives whenever I can, trusting these seeds will blossom something amazing into the lives that have touched mine.
As this new year begins, let's pause for a moment to give thanks for what Love has blessed us with in 2010, and ask Love to give us our BEST 2011 ever + make our dreams come true!
My recent teachers have taught me that words are powerful, and that when more people pay attention to them, the higher likelihood of them coming true. So to test out this theory, I'm putting my gratitude and dreams into writing and sharing them with you, in hopes that they will come true faster. I encourage you to do the same, quietly in your journal, share with close friends or broadcast it on Twitter... thanks for your participation and have the VERY BEST YEAR EVER!!! :D
In 2010, my hear thanks LOVE for:
1) 1 year + of balance and good health.
2) All the amazing friends I met through Wednesdays.
3) My complete teacup collection!! :D
4) Our new food processor!
In 2011, my heart dreams of:
1) Meeting my half-orange and partner-in-transformation this year.
2) Continued balance, health and wellness.
3) Travel souvenir teaspoons to go with my teacup collection. ;)
4) All the hungry around the world to be nourished.
