Gratitude Week 10: The Beautiful Autumn Leaves

The brilliant display of fall foliage in Ontario never cease to "wow" me each season, but I always feel a little wistful when the leaves begin changing colours, from lively shades of green to vibrant yellows, orange and red. It signals the beginning of a life cycle's end, while I wish to hold on to blossoming life forever.

But as Brett Dennen sings "life is loving and letting go", so I continue to learn this lesson, thanking life for the magnificent display of beauty now, and trusting that life will return again in spring, as it always does.

The amazing colours seems like nature's way of saying "Hey, I'm more alive than ever! So stick around and love my colder sides too! And watch me soon transform death into life right before your eyes!" Thank God that's a promise we can always count on.
